My system seems to have no default printer.
I have an HP Deskjet 895C on the parallel port.
parport0: PC-style at 0x378 (0x778) [PCSPP,TRISTATE,EPP]
parport0: irq 7 detected
parport0: Printer, HEWLETT-PACKARD DESKJET 895C
lp0: using parport0 (polling).
HP's driver is there, but I don't know how to get it to do anything.
[bigbird at localhost bigbird]$ hpijs -h
Hewlett-Packard Co. Inkjet Server 1.3.1
Copyright (c) 2001-2003, Hewlett-Packard Co.
[bigbird at localhost bigbird]$
When I try to print from applications, the Deskjet isn't an option - only
print to file etc.
gs -h lists support for Deskjet 890C.
What do I do next?
Thanks.
Joe
