I had this when I first installed it I think, but after installing apt
from freshrpms and doing upgrades it seems to have fixed it. The only
thing I still notice is I can't add cd audio tracks to xmms. There is
no longer /mnt/cdrom etc, but there is /media where the cdrom(s) sit.
Even when trying to add them that way though it doesn't seem to work.<br>

Something I've noticed though is Core 3 restarts easy, but doesn't seem
to want to shut down. It gets to "ACPI Power Off" called and then
hangs. Anyone else? -Jesse<br>

This is a brand new problem since installing FC3. I also tried as root
user with no luck. I read in another forum that some people have had
trouble with this issue so I tried it just to see. It seems I have this
issue as well. I haven't seen a solution, although one poster made a
passing reference to this and that is was easily solved. Unfortunately
he was replying to a previous post with lots of questions and he only
just touched on some of the issues. Any one run into this or know what
could be wrong? FYI, the cd's are good, they play fine in another player.

Thanks for the reply. I also use apt/synaptic, do you recall what you
upgraded when the problem went away? This seems like such a basic
functionality issue, hard to see how this could have slipped through. I
did see something regarding the power down issue. I haven't tried it
yet though. The poster in one of the fedora forums said the problem
went away after he disabled <not sure> the power saving feature
in his bios. Could be a struggle between the OS and the bios. My 2
cents. <br>

P.S. I also can NOT telinit to runlevel 3 from runlevel 5. It begins to
kill X then simply hangs. The only way I can get to runlevel 3 is to
edit my initab file and reboot. weird. This held me up for a while when
I was installing the Nvidia drivers. So far to me anyways, FC3 seems
kind of buggy.<br>
