There is almost certainly a linux way for doing any windows way of doing anything, and it is usually better and definitely more stable. I would recommend Mandrake 8.2 (soon to be release 9.0) for it's ease of use and configuration. I also, having begun working with it alot, have grown quite fond of the latest RedHat release of 7.3 for it's amazing stability, although it is a bear to get it all configured.
