PS/2 ---> USB Keyboard Mouse Problems

Mr free keyboard and mouse arrived today and both are USB. I attached
them to my main machine and fired it up. I am running Suse 9.1 and
neither keyboard nor mouse where detected. So i left them plugged in
and plugged in a ps/2 keyboard and mouse. Well the first try the usb
mouse worked but after a reboot it doesnt anymore. Suse detected the
usb multimedia keyboard but says its a mouse. I dont know how to
change it with there config util. So can I just change a settings file
to make sure it uses my USB keyboard and mouse for the primary device
not the ps/2?? I hope I said all that clearly... ohh and they both
work in windoze
