The problem is that QuickBooks loses the network connection to the 
company and/or takes "bloody ages" (12-36 hrs. ... if at all!) to do 
things that Intuit maintains should take 15-20 min. max. Hey, at least I 
spoke to a guy in Arizona instead of Calcutta! I do suspect some of it 
is the standard ... "it's not our software ...", but based on local 
machine tests, there's "...something rotten in Ethermark..."! ;-) I'll 
try Robert's suggestions first, as it's cheap and easy.
